Aaron Hopper with Guitar

One of Australia’s most talented Guitarists and Composers of his generation, Aaron Hopper has performed throughout Japan, Germany, Austria, and Australia, and has received international and National acclaim for his writing and playing, with the great Australian duo, “stringmansassy”.

Aaron has performed in some of Germany’s most prestigious music venues, including The Blue Note Jazz Club, Berlins Butterclub,  Munich’s Bayerisherhof, Castle Corvey, Hannover’s The Gig,  Regensburg’s Hinterhaus, He has also given performances at the Hannover Jazz Festival, and Viennas Kult 12.

In addition, Aaron has represented Australia with his music, at the World Expo in Aichi, Japan in 2005, and Hannover, Germany in 2000 and has given countless performances throughout the major Australian Festivals, Woodford, Port Fairy, Canberra National Festival, and at Australia’s well respected Venues, The Basement, and Tilly’s to name only a few.

Aaron’s commitment to the Guitar extends to music as a whole, spending a great deal of time studying the masters of composition, and fingerstyle Guitar, and through his discoveries, unlocking his own voice on the Acoustic Guitar, an instrument that he considers endlessly expressive. Aaron has studied Classical, and Jazz guitar, and has a deep interest in Japanese and eastern music. His original music and style reflect many influences, and defy genre.

He has recently finished study with French Guitar Master, Pierre Bensusan, and holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Queensland University of Technology.

Aaron has released five CD’s with his duo, “stringmansassy”, and his music is regularly heard, on Australia’s highly regarded Classic FM and ABC’s Radio National stations, across Australia. Aaron is currently in production of his first solo Guitar recording, and will begin touring in Australia in 2010 with a European tour late 2010.
