Christmas Spirit

December 13, 2014 7:00 pm - December 13, 2014 9:00 pm

Do you think Christmas is more than just presents under a tree? Do you fancy coming to a community event that is all about great music, vintage elegance and is unashamedly traditional? Come with your family and friends to experience a magical musical Christmas with uplifting carols, good cheer and a festive atmosphere. This exclusive fine music event features everything to make even the meanest of Scrooges catch the Christmas Spirit. Bring your best caroling voice and be introduced to the delights of a fine musical Noël.

This special classical music concert features stunning Christmas music by Gustav Holst, John Rutter and Vaughan Williams - three great composers from the English choral and orchestral tradition directed by both father and daughter conductors and English musicians, Adrian King and Louise King. Featuring magical uplifting performances by the dreaming BIG choir and chamber orchestra with guest professional artists, opera singers, choristers and handpicked talented young musicians from all over the Sunshine Coast, this concert is one not to miss.

Christmas Spirit will be a rousing musical finale to the dreaming BIG concert series 2014. “Hear traditional Christmas music that uplifts the spirit, celebrates community and indulges in nostalgia” says Louise King, the Artistic Director of the dreaming BIG series at Eudlo. “Gustav Holst’s Christmas Day contains three traditional carols interweaving chamber orchestra and fine choral singing: Good Christian Men, Rejoice, God Rest ye Merry Gentlemen and a divine The First Nowell.”

Guest musicians are travelling from Brisbane and the length and breadth of the Sunshine Coast especially at the invite of Artistic Director Louise King to perform for one night only in Eudlo. Book your tickets today as all concerts in the 2014 series have been sold out.

“Musicians simply love playing great music with inspiring musicians for audiences who care,” says Artistic Director Louise King. “Expect to be up close and personal as the audience are seated close to the performers for this special Christmas music concert. I am excited to bring this stunning Christmas music and high profile guest artists to my home village Eudlo as part of the dreaming BIG series.”

Sell-out concerts throughout 2014 have shown this is the new hottest event on the Sunshine Coast for music lovers. This is the last concert in dreaming BIG series celebrating great classical music with Australian renowned musicians all building community connection and enriching the community with performance and opportunities for emerging young classical musicians. The audience can enjoy mingling with guest artists and take advantage of the cash bar and supper provided as a community fundraiser by Eudlo Hall & Recreational Grounds Association.

Artistic Director and Cellist, Louise King said, “dreaming BIG concert series offers the hinterland community an opportunity to experience world-class concerts in a rural, relaxing setting. Music can animate the heart of Eudlo by bringing the community together.  For me this is the great purpose of music. It’s great to bring great inspiring artists and wonderful music to my home area. It’s a music event deserving of a community celebration. If you have a passion for trying new things and are musically adventurous, this concert is not to be missed.”
