Omnia Ensemble - The Dance of Life

Omnia Ensemble - The Dance of Life

July 26, 2016 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Categories: Classical, Concert, Free Event

Classical music virtually danced itself into existence on the rhythms, beats, melodies and grooves of the common dance tune. With examples taken from the Spanish baroque, through European romanticism to modern latin America, this concert reveals how composers tended to follow their feet and not their heads.

Over the last decade, the Omnia Ensemble led by harpist Donald Hall has gathered for special concerts which reflect the various musicians common interest in the music that was embryonic in establishing the European Classical style (Jewish, Middle Eastern, Greek, Medieval and early Baroque). They have performed for the City Hall Concerts, Music by the Sea Festival, Woodford Festival and the National Shakespeare Festival.
