Following concert debuts to full houses and standing ovations at Brisbane City Hall and the Woodford and Cygnet Folk Festivals earlier this year, Alma Salero are taking their exploration of the rich history of Spanish music on tour throughout Australia and Europe in 2017/18. From gypsy inspired flamenco to arrangements of the music of Granados and De Falla through to contemporary Spanish music that incorporates hip hop and reggae, Alma Salero invites you into the mesmerising and captivating world of the music of España.

Born in Barcelona into a family deeply entrenched in Catalan cultural heritage, Clara Domingo started her formal musical studies at age 5. Living in the south of Spain, Clara’s interests burgeoned in Spanish traditional music, especially flamenco. She recently settled in Australia where she continues to develop a unique style that reflects an international sensibility firmly grounded within Spanish and Catalan traditions. Clara has performed with flamenco companies Flamenco Fire and Jaleos Flamenco including concert appearances at Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Brisbane City Hall, Woodford Folk Festival and Cygnet Folk Festival.

Amongst Australia’s finest Spanish Guitarists, Andrew Veivers draws on a wide range of musical influences to evoke the sensual and mesmerising sounds of the Spanish guitar in all of its guises. Over the past twenty years he has established himself as a musician, teacher, director and composer of the highest calibre – touring, recording, composing, and arranging extensively for solo projects, his groups Flamenco Fire and The Saruzu Quartet as well as for great Australian artistic institutions such as The Sydney Theatre Company, Opera Queensland and the Woodford Folk Festival.
