Over 3 days, Gympie’s Gold Rush Festival will celebrate Gympie’s history as 'the town that saved Queensland from bankruptcy' when James Nash first discovered gold back in 1867. There will be an old ways and wares market and display, 2 stages of live music, vintage games for kids of all ages, a food precinct featuring Indigenous, Chinese and Scottish foods, an old-style bar positioned so patrons can enjoy the antics of the vintage games, rides, as well as a Nashy’s Big Beard Bonanza beard competition.
