Winners of the prestigious 2021 Qld Music Award for Best Jazz Song, Danny Widdicombe and Trichotomy have built a strong reputation for the quality of both their captivating live performances and acclaimed recordings. Their cross-genre collaboration was born from the idea of merging Danny’s modern-folk song writing and finger style guitar approach, with Trichotomy’s virtuosic jazz musicianship and innate musicality creating an engaging blend of sonic tapestries. The steel string guitar and earthy vocals are the perfect match for the piano, bass, drums and their intimate interplay. Musically cohesive, detailed, and accessible to an array of audiences.

Danny Widdicombe (vocals/guitar) has won the coveted GW McLennan Fellowship, two Qld Music Awards, has three ARIA Award nominations with his band The Wilson Pickers, and has toured the world singing his songs. His 10 studio albums cover a broad spectrum of musical genres such as modern folk, blues, country, bluegrass, rock, jazz, ambient and electronic. Danny has also played lead guitar for Bernard Fanning, Tim Rogers, The Go-Betweens and many more.
Trichotomy consist of Sean Foran (piano), John Parker (percussion) and Samuel Vincent (double bass). Known internationally as a trio at the forefront of modern jazz, they deftly blend exciting rhythmic improvising and delicate atmospherics with performances across Europe, Asia and the Americas.
