Sounds of Splendour: Music for Trumpet and Organ

The idea of augmenting the magnificence of the Cathedral Organ with the brilliance of the Modern Valved Trumpet has provoked the interest and imagination of both audiences and composers alike. The range of the program offered in this concert here shows insight into the versatility of the combination: Joyful and Glorious music from the Baroque, Beautiful and soulful melodies found in music from the Classical period along with powerful forces of transparent colour found in more modern works from the 20th Century and beyond. Trumpeter John Coulton, along with organist Christopher Wrench give superb performances of the trumpet and organ repertoire spanning five centuries on this their début performance from the heavenly acoustics of the Brisbane City Hall.

Clem Jones City Hall concerts take place in Brisbane City Hall from February through to November every Tuesday from 12 noon- 1pm. Concerts are FREE and no booking is required.
