Acclaimed guitarists Karin Schaupp and Andrew Veivers come together for the first time in concert, presenting an intimate program of Spanish guitar.
Long-time friends since their university days studying under Karin’s mother and mentor, Isolde Schaupp, the pair bring deep musical understanding and complementary styles to the stage.
Karin Schaupp is one of the world’s most celebrated classical guitarists. Known for her expressive artistry and luminous tone, she has performed across Europe, Asia, the Americas and Australia as a soloist and chamber musician. Her recordings for Warner Music International and ABC Classics have earned international acclaim and inspired new works written especially for her.
Andrew Veivers is regarded as one of Australia’s leading Spanish guitarists. His music draws on both classical and flamenco traditions, shaped by study and performance in London, Madrid and Amsterdam. He has toured internationally with Flamenco Fire and The Saruzu Quartet.
In this special collaboration, Karin and Andrew share a program that highlights the artistry, intimacy and expressive power of the Spanish guitar.
